About Dahlia Kalter

Dahlia Kalter brings a wealth of diverse experiences to her distinguished career in the field of trusts and estates. Her academic journey began at Barnard College, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and a minor in Psychology. The foundation laid during her undergraduate years at Barnard has been a cornerstone of her interdisciplinary approach to the complexities of legal practice.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Dahlia’s commitment to academic excellence led her to New York University School of Law, where she earned her JD. There, she also served as the Developments Editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics. Demonstrating her dedication to specialization, she further pursued an LLM in Taxation.

Dahlia’s professional journey commenced at Proskauer Rose LLP, where she immersed herself in the Trusts and Estates department, garnering invaluable experience and expertise. Eager to meld her legal acumen with a personal touch, she joined her father in private practice, embarking on a two-decade-long journey of providing comprehensive counsel on estate planning, charitable giving, trust and estate administration, and the oversight of tax-exempt organizations.

Beyond her legal career, Dahlia remains deeply connected to her alma mater, Barnard College. As a graduate committed to giving back, she is an active member of the annual giving committee, contributing her time and resources to support the college’s mission and future generations of students. Additionally, Dahlia serves as an alumna admissions representative, passionately advocating for the transformative educational experience she herself benefited from as an undergraduate.

In the spirit of generosity and civic responsibility, Dahlia dedicates her free time to pro bono work. Her commitment to public service extends beyond the confines of her legal practice, demonstrating a profound belief in the power of law to effect positive change in the community. Dahlia’s pro bono contributions exemplify her commitment to justice and underscore the impact a dedicated legal professional can have beyond the courtroom.

As a proud member of the New York City Bar Association and the American Bar Association, Dahlia continues to shape the legal landscape with her intellect, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of society. Her journey from undergraduate scholar to esteemed legal professional is not only a narrative of personal achievement, but also a testament to the enduring influence of education, community engagement, and the pursuit of justice.
